Moving House

Some of you may know that I've been in the process of moving house for some time now. (Over a year!) It's fallen through twice and we lost the first house we were after but now, finally, we're moving on Friday!

So, this is just to say I may be aloof for a while. I'm hoping I won't be without internet for long, but hey, might give me a chance to get more of the WiP written without getting distracted by Googling pics of Ben Barnes, right?

Re: Moving House

Good luck with the house and, more importantly of course, the WiP

Wow, well good luck I know it can be a real pain in the whiskers, but then again it can all go smoothly. You're not leaving the west country are you?

Re: Moving House

Glad to hear it's finally going along! Hope it goes well! Definitely one of those things where you want complete smoothness and minimal hassle.

Got the same thing happening in a couple of weeks and I'm already mostly packed so I can avoid killing myself from exertion later on.

Re: Moving House

Done it too many times to count and hated it every time! But always been happier than before once it's all settled back down.

Best of luck Mouse and hooray that it's finally happening!

Orf learning to talk posh, eh? Just remember: baath, paath, plaastic, faather, haalf, caalf, etc.

Re: Moving House

Hey good luck Mouse! Does the move give you more private space?

(I love the way you English talk: "Moving house." If we are moving a house, we are actually putting the house on wheels and moving it to a new location. If I am going to go somewhere else to live, I say: "I'm moving (fill in when)."

Re: Moving House

My sympathy Mouse - but a good chance to toss out and getting order in paper and stuff -- if needed
Hope your dog will find his new home agreeable :-)

So an American unaware of Mouse's real house moving problems might see the beginning of Mouse's first paragraph,

and start imagining the lorry carrying Mouse's house damaging a bridge or two, and (not taking in the word, first) wonder just how a house could get lost**.

** - Okay, this happened in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (in the season 12 episode, Stealing Home), but that's rather far-fetched fiction (though quite enjoyable).

Re: Moving House

Thanks all! And um... actually I meant 'elusive' not 'aloof.' Oops.

I'm hoping the dog'll settle quickly, anivid, otherwise I'm in for some sleepless nights!
