Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- July

A little early as I'm off to my bed soon and I won't be logging on first thing tomorrow, but the new Challenge is up!! http://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/forum...ead-first.html

Just to confirm, in case anyone's worried, there's no need to use real myths or legends, you can create your own, just make them seem suitably mythic and/or legendary...

Good luck!

JUDGE!!!! *Shakes fist at 'er honor* I knew it!

Though to be fair, justice does tend to encompass a broader scope than "law," so...yeah.

And there's a fairly crystal clear opening for Ursa's inevitable pun.

You shouldn't complain -- you probably put the idea into her head with your talk of the law.

Anyway, it's a good idea, so you should be proud of your contribution.

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- July

It wasn't actually complaining, it was meant to be tongue in cheek. I was rather pleased with the genre she chose, and I believe I can fit justice in very well. The brainstorming begins.

I've seen more challenging challenges....which shall not be named again. Now listening to Mr. Blue Sky by ELO to put me in a more upbeat mood and thinking on how to go about this.

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- July

This is going to be really hard for me I suspect. I just don't think in terms of justice. I'm not vengeful, and I've never personally suffered injustice

In fact, I can imagine injustice easily, but justice, I have a real problem pinning down

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- July

Thanks Karn, there you go giving The Judge ideas.

James, I think you might find it easier if you don't combine justice and revenge. They aren't the same.

Now, I guess I should go and search out my own entry.

Unless 'er Honor says so, I don't think I should be taking credit for implanting the idea in her head...

You should be just fine -- there is no injustice without the concept of justice, after all. In the same way, a great many of the stories for the "Innocence" theme were about the lack thereof. In fact, injustice is the "dark side" of justice, so anything in that line will fit right in here!
