Ebooks released first?

Is it worth getting an ereader to get new books that are published in the US before they come out in the UK, or do publishers restrict ebook purchases by country?

Yes ebooks have pretty much exactly the same geographical restrictions as paper books.

For example, most of the time I cannot purchase ebooks from Amazon.com and have to buy from amazon.co.uk. There are ways around that if you want to get inot proxies asn such like.
