Hi, I've just applied. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to be online early June but I hope to be.

I've made my first round selections (France 2 - England 1; I have guaranteed an England win).

I've made my picks for the first round, too.

Interesting how the three of us who have made the picks (Snowdog, alchemist, and me) almost agree perfectly with each other on some matches (I'm looking at you, Netherlands/Denmark).

Yup, nobody gives poor Denmark a chance. It's hard to tell how the teams will start off and if friendly form will hold.

Fortunately, for this competition, it doesn't matter.

I think we stand a reasonable chance getting out of the group now. We should get something out of the Sweden game and then Rooney will be back for Ukraine.

T'was six O'Clock in the morning, I'm having breakfast about to leave the house to goto Broghton for the day with work and I had forgotten to make my picks, when up pops a message reminding me to do so.
Hopefully you will live to regret it, picks made in haste have a certain natural instinctual feeling to them

There are many things I would willingly swap a bit of wisdom for, Alc. Like the ability to remember the name of the person that's approaching you in the street and about to start a conversation.

Anyway I expect it all to go wrong in the next round. I've been banking on each team trying their hardest to win so far. But, now that some are definitely out and some are definitely through, will some teams start resting players and playing tactically instead?
