May will have the most stories written with various font colours.

My eyes already twitching.

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- May

I should have included the following link (kindly supplied by digs) in my first post: Science Fantasy.

And, I suppose, time travel (which is fantasy, in my opinion, although I'm sure there'll be those who disagree).

Of course time travel is possible! How else would you explain how I went to bed last night, and next thing I knew I was several hours in the future??

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- May

I've written mine (although I'm not sure whether its science fantasy or just science fiction...), but I didn't really want to make it my first post on the forum. So this is my first post instead. Please don't judge this one too harshly .

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- May

Welcome to the Chrons, stevietee!

You'll be relieved to know that we don't permit critiques** of the challenge entries. Some kind members do give their thoughts on the entries, but stick strictly to the positives, so there shouldn't be any harsh comments.

The thing you must worry about is following the rules. In particular, check the word count by hand; your word processor's spellchecker and/or word count function may not always give accurate results.

** - However, once a particular challenge is over, an entry's author can ask for comments, using this thread. This is entirely voluntary.

Thanks for the welcome Ursa. Good tip about checking the word count by hand - had to do a bit of a re-write.

Anyway my effort is up now so better get back to the day job!

Stevietee that was a quick entry, welcome to Chrons.

SciFi, good stuff, that's me happy. Not a clue what I'm going to do yet I'm still a blank -but blankly happy!

Done while idea was in head. It is a homage to an old fave. Entered via phone so I hope the spelling and layout worked.

Re: Discussion -- 75 Word Challenge -- May

The layout didn't quite work, Luiglin, as there are no spaces between the paragraphs (as we prefer here**). If you can change it from your phone, you still have the best part of an hour to edit that post.

This isn't a big deal: in 75 words, it's usually easy to follow text like this (as is the case with the entries before and after yours). However, because you're using a lot of capital letters, it makes yours slightly harder to read (at least for me). But if you can live with this, that's fine. (And it won't stop me from considering your story when it's time to vote for the best entry.)

** - For those new to the Chrons, the software doesn't allow spaces to be placed at the beginning of a paragraph, and so we compensate by putting a blank line between paragraphs in places like Critiques. (Omitting these blank lines isn't against any rule, by the way, so no need to worry.)

I'm in as well, almost a bolt of lighting or is that the rain clouds above?
