| Registered User | Hello from Colorado Hello. I'm a long time fan of science fiction, but I haven't read much in the last few years and I decided to fix that. I thought I'd come over here and maybe find the titles of some interesting books to look up. My favorite author might be H.P. Lovecraft, but I like a lot of different authors. In the past I've tended to read a lot of one genre and then switch to another for awhile. Science fiction, science fantasy, and horror seem to be my favorites. I've occasionally written stuff in the past, but it's probably all destroyed the last time my hard drive crashed, fortunately for you all. |

| Re: Hello from Colorado Hi Wonk, Viva Colorado. I went there last year for a workshop at Boulder. Wonderful town. One very excellent secondhand bookshop with massive SFF trove down the back. Lovely elderly people running it who will help you find the rare gems and keep some interesting stuff up front. I think I bought Dangerous Visions there. Also quite close to the Mountain Sun brewpub, which was also excellent. |

| Re: Hello from Colorado I have almost stepped foot on Colorado's soil. On a flight from San Jose to Atlanta in 1994, the plane landed at Denver Airport, where we all got off and waited, on an upper floor**, no more than about 50 metres from the aircraft, if that. After about half-an-hour - I'm not entirely sure of the duration - most if not all of us got back on the same plane and left. But there are quite a few people here at the Chrons who live in your state full time. Let's hope you enjoy it here as much as they seem to do. And so: Welcome to the Chrons, wonkishere! ** - Well, it was far enough above the ground to feel it was not on the lowest storey of the terminal. |
