| ??? Does anyone remember the title of a book in which the main character transits to an alternate (other) world through a self constructed power grid (field) in which everything is black and white, and it seems to be inhabited only by harmless seeming rabbit like creatures, which eat everything in sight on a cyclic basis? I read this novel (or maybe it was a short story) many (40 or 50) years ago. I also remember that one chapter was titled 'The Beach of Bones'. Please help, trying to remember it is driving me batty! |

| Re: ??? Thanks Lenny, Yes, I read Tunnel in the Sky, but in the story I'm trying to remember, our hero is alone and he must launch himself through the 'field's' window because his entry point between worlds is located just above and beyond the edge of a cliff. He discovers this by first tossing tennis balls through the field and discovering that only a few bounce back. |
