| Writing group seeking new members First off, mods, I'm not sure if I'm a) allowed to post this, and b) if I'm in the right place for it, so if I'm wrong in either account, please let me know! I am a member of a very friendly writing group based around Farnborough area in Hampshire. We are currently looking for new members within the local area. On the off chance there is anyone here on the forums who is interested (or knows anyone who might be), and in the right location, I thought it was worth posting! We currently have four members, all currently working on fantasy novels, all with the intention of working towards publication. We would ideally like any new member to write, or at least read, within the genre, to be able to critique constructively. Members must be able to drive, and able to host, as meetings are held on a rota basis at members' houses every other week. (At the moment, that means hosting once every couple of months). We read work out loud at meetings, and critique there and then. At present, each member reads around 1500-2500 words at a meeting. Please PM me for more details if you, or anyone you know, is interested. |

| Truth. Order. Moderation. | Re: Writing group seeking new members rj, we don't allow duplicate posts. If you'd prefer to be in GWD, I'll transfer this one over for you. Meanwhile, I'm removing the other one, to keep things tidy. And I'm a bit too far away, I'm afraid, as I'm the Southampton end of the county. |

| Re: Writing group seeking new members Since you are not having much luck here, thought I ask/suggest Have you/are you allowed to put up adverts for this in the libraries in the area? Ditto bookshops? Have you put anything up on Goodreads or Fantasy Faction? You could try asking Dave Langford if he could put it in the Ansible newsletter. Contact British Science Fiction Association and British Fantasy Society. Does anyone know any sf clubs (as opposed to writing groups) in that area? |
