Face Transplant Success

I have to say I'm stunned by this. I almost want to say 'the guy looks totally different' but that, I suppose, was inevitable.

Re: Face Transplant Success

I've just seen that on another site.

Those surgeons have given Mr Norris the chance of a new life just as surely as those who are involved in the transplanting of internal organs do for their patients.

There's not much to say here except agree with Ursa. It's not just a matter of cosmetics. I would have to wonder how Mr. Norris had been able to be sufficiently nourished since it said he had only limited use of his mouth and no lips at all.

I say kudos to those surgeons for this. I don't always care for doctors, but I truly feel that surgeons do save lives.

Re: Face Transplant Success

Just looking at the photos again UM, Karn I can see where the stitches go over the top of his head but can't see them beneath his chin. Looks like the ears are new as well so this stitches could go behind his ears down the back of his neck then forward across his collar bone and down beneath his shirt before crossing the top of his chest. If so there will hardly be a single sign of what has been done - incredible. Also his facial hair will be the same as that beneath his chin and the front of his neck.

Re: Face Transplant Success

I saw this astounding reconstructive-transplant surgery on TV a few hours ago. Amazing. This is the first step in helping those who have bad head damage caused by accidents, disease, birth defects (etc.).

Castor Troy: Hello? This is Sean Archer.
Sean Archer: Well, if you are Sean Archer, then I must be Castor Troy.
Castor Troy: Wheee. What a predicament!
