I also heard that the show only covers up to about issue #11 of the comics but so far the comics are into the 90's issue wise, so plenty of material for future seasons.
At least they have material to draw from!

That's the only thing that bugged me about this episode. Lori all but told Rick that he should kill Shane... and when he did, she bugs out. I guess she could've had a change of heart, but she must realize that he was a huge danger to keep around.

She was really making me angry. She kept changing her mind all over the place, first she wants Rick to make sure he stays around so that Carl can actually have a father, then she wants him going all over the place making sure that he keeps them all safe.

Then she was definitely baiting both Rick and Shane. I think she wanted them to fight it out and (maybe really deep down but still there...) she wanted Shane to be the one to actually win.

Re: 2.13: The Walking Dead - Besides the Dying Fire

This was a great finish to season 2. The action was great with the walkers attacking the farm.
Shame to loose a couple of characters, but at least the main group are still together.

Not sure what Lori is up to, why she pushed Rick away, especially as she practically told him to kill Shane..... I so dislike that character!

I like that Rick is taking charge, about time too, he's pussy footed around the issue enough. Looks like the Prison is going to be the start to Season 3

Overall I did enjoy this series, though Im not happy at having to wait until next May to see Season 3

Really enjoyed it! Bring on the prison, Michonne and season 3!

I will say that I hope Lori is going to die and fast. I cannot stand her. Keep an eye on your son, lady! And her attitude towards Shane and Rick is awful. She was basically playing them off each other, and when Rick got tired of it and killed Shane she suddenly has morals. Give it up, Lori.

The past, where everything was a-ok; people could dream about luxury cars and a bungalow at the beach side. And that is how T-Dog wants it to be. To live in safety and luxury, and not having to worry about what's lurking behind the next corner. I believe that is how most of the survivors besides Hershel wants it to be, when they cannot see them fitting in Ricktatorship.

Would you?

Would you want to stay under an umbrella of a strong leader, or wander around the countryside until you find that abandoned luxury pat by the seaside? Well, I can dream about that, but the realistic in me would want to stay safe in a place, where I can feel strong walls around me, even if there's ten thousand moaners at the other side.

Maybe some of you could say that there's dwarf blood running in me, and I wouldn't even bat an eyelid to say: "Yes." A castle like fortification is a good place to be, but it's nothing compared to a fully realised underground bunker. And seeing the barn going up in flames next to hundred pairs of glassy zombie eyes is a horrifying image, when you think about sucking in generated air and watching herds wandering around from a television screen.

But all of that can and would be spoiled with the knowledge Rick possessed for so long time. Nobody is safe as everyone's a carrier. And that bit of knowledge kills hope like nothing else. So say what you want, but in my mind Rick did the right thing and kept the information hidden, until he was absolutely sure about it.

Don't you agree?

Thing about the prison we saw in the last scene is that like any other place they've visited in the past, it's full of biters. You cannot get away from those monsters. And to clean up that place they need Rick's leadership, T-Dog's strength, Andrea's sharp eyes and Michotte's swords.

I'll give five stars for the season two. It was a really good one.
I'll agree with you, however, I think that both season one & two deserve a five star rating. There is no contest between this show and the other big sci-fi show that had legions of followers, and that show was Lost. The difference is this: in the five star Walking Dead, each episode builds on the previous one. The tension builds, the action and the pacing adds to it and the payoffs in entertainment are enormous. Of course, we can't forget the first rate actors, writers and crew that creates all this for us. Now let's look at Lost: My wife loved this show at first and that sucked me into watching it. But with Lost, the show felt after a while like plot lines were just being made up as the seasons went along. Perhaps, the writers and producers thought that show would be canceled at any time so why put forth any effort to make it coherent. The simple fact that Lost took a wrong turn in with nonsensical plot lines, negated any good the actors on Lost could accomplish. Not so with The Walking Dead! It is easily the best sci-fi/horror tv show to be on the air in a very long time. Oh, and my wife, forgot all about Lost and now loves The Walking Dead as much as I do.

I have to agree with you all about Lori.

If you must spoil from the comics, please hide it within the spoiler tags like FireDragon-12 did. I read it anyway, but I had a chance to decide if I wanted to.

I think the prison sounds like a mistake (even without comic spoilers.) It sounds like they are looking for an alternative to a castle, but that it isn't. Their best bet would be to head north into the hills as I said before and find a valley with water and food that they can barricade and fortify. I don't see any reason for T-bone deciding they go East. Also, is T-bone going to do anything other than moan and make bad suggestions. Why hasn't he been killed off yet? Someone mentioned that he isn't in the comics and he hhas brought nothing to the TV series. There has been no charcter development with him at all.

I won't have as long to wait since I'm so far behind to begin with.

Re: 2.13: The Walking Dead - Besides the Dying Fire

Dave, Dave, slow down. You need to enjoy. Some of the people watching that are also comic readers and I'm not spoiling if it's not hinted for. You see that a lot of stuff has happened and the group is going through an transformation from one beast to another as the next scene starts from six months later.

The prison scene it is. So don't spoil yourself. There has been changes. It's much more interesting and tense. And there's not going to be an episode, when something isn't happening. And as a warning there's a lot of character development going on.

The walking dead is best if you watch it back to back. The pacing makes more sense. And every watcher develops ideas about what if, when they're watching it. You just cannot stop thinking about it. The original story-arch is somewhere there in the background and the stuff isn't happening as it was in the original one.

So it's an impossibility to think you know who going to get it and when. You just can't. You think you might know, but you don't.

Trust me.

I've seen it.
