Re: Books like your wip?

That's why I try to get a lot of readers and look for new ones every now and then. It gets me more diverse opinions and I indirectly tap a lot more of the current literature because of it. I'm not much of an Anne Rice type of writer either...

Re: Books like your wip?

After I finished Planet Janitor I had a beta reader tell me that I'd just crossed Firefly with Starship Troopers. I had no idea what Firefly was and I'd only seen the movie Starship Troopers. Then about a week later, I received a review that compared me to Bob Heinlein's golden age stuff. So I have no idea how I channeled these two sources, or combined them to end up with what I had. Kind of glad it happened though.

Go watch Firefly now! And Serenity (the movie)

I'd be happy that your book was compared to Joss Whedon's work.

Just shows that everything reminds everyone of everything.

Starhip Troopers movie is nothing like the book. Hated the movie, loved the book.

Really liked Firefly and Serenity, would be a good thing to watch.

Re: Books like your wip?

Thank you for the advice. I think I will watch those two programs/movies. I'm so far behind the times. But on the hook, I've heard great things about them.

I had to reply to this, as I do the same thing.
