| Re: Books like your wip? That's why I try to get a lot of readers and look for new ones every now and then. It gets me more diverse opinions and I indirectly tap a lot more of the current literature because of it. I'm not much of an Anne Rice type of writer either... |

| Triceratops | Re: Books like your wip? After I finished Planet Janitor I had a beta reader tell me that I'd just crossed Firefly with Starship Troopers. I had no idea what Firefly was and I'd only seen the movie Starship Troopers. Then about a week later, I received a review that compared me to Bob Heinlein's golden age stuff. So I have no idea how I channeled these two sources, or combined them to end up with what I had. Kind of glad it happened though. |
