Hello everyone

I'm here on advice from an agent and good advice it seems to have been.

I have always wanted to write but life got in the way. But I don't plan to be on my death bed with regrets. So I had a stab at writing again after, ohhh, a long gap.

I started a short story which took a year to do and in the end, it ended at 80k words; but I really enjoyed writing it. I have to admit, that I don't think its good enough as it is to publish but, what I have learned in doing has surprised me. I still think the story is good enough, so with more experience, I'm going to redo, whats another year.....

I have been very surprised to discover how tough publishing is, I worry I'll never be rich!!!!!

I have moved on to my next work/adventure. The first section will appear soon (30+ posts) for all of you to shoot holes in, only fair as I have been getting stuck in with other peoples work.

A big blurb, but it has been good to discover like minded souls, so hello guys, its good to know it not just me with an over active imagination!

Oh, a Seamus, that caused brief excitement as I thought the Irish contingent on the Chrons had increased, but I see not. My commiserations to you.

I was going to issue the usual warnings of addiction time wasting, but I see you've already been off posting in lots of threads and suspect it may be a lost cause

You'll be looking for the writing challenges, if you haven't been there already (there's a glut of newbies this month, so I can't remember)

That's one big short story!

I wouldn't worry about the being rich part, just concentrate on enjoying the writing.

Definitely, if someone's idea doesn't make them feel that way, then it probably won't work.
