| Re: When you dream.... I know I dream (my wife tells me so) but I rarely remember them. However when I have bad one (not quite a nightmare) that I remember it's always about things that aren't quite right and I can't do anything about it. As an example, I play squash - that's in an empty room with just two players and a ball. My last bad dream involved a squash game in a room containing several tables and chairs at which groups of people were sitting down drinking tea. And there were several kids running round as well. |

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: When you dream.... I dream every night -- even if I can't remember what, I can feel that there were images during the night. Often I have sprawling dreams that switch all over the place. Other times I have epic stories that I remember really well. I like those. Zombies I dream about a great deal. Only ever been bitten once, though, and got possessed by a horrible poltergeist at the same time. I'm always trying to take photos of things with my camera in my dreams. If I'm anywhere remotely pretty, I'll be trying to take photos of it. I dream of travelling a great deal. Trains are always appearing in my dreams. I think that's mostly due to the fact that I really want to go to far off places but it's a little difficult at the moment. I feel pain in my dreams. A few times I've been stabbed and the pain has woken me up. Another time I dreamt a gas was freezing my lungs and I could feel it happening. I'd like to find out if the pain is already there and it's just being incorporated into my dream, or if the dream is really causing the pain. The way it fits so well, and happens at the right time, makes it feel like the latter. I dream of flying a fair amount, but it's always the same -- I'll be soaring at first, but then I'll start losing it and I'll be struggling and trying to make myself get higher again. For me, a 'normal' dream of doing every day stuff is very uncommon. My dreams are always full of very, very weird stuff. If I dream of people, it can be a really weird mix. Sometimes people I know now, sometimes people I haven't seen in years and weren't even that close to. Recurring dreams tend to be my rabbit being alive again, but right at the end and my trying to save him, or spending time with my dad. Chronners have been known to pop up regularly. Of course, No One tends to appear a lot lately. J.d keeps popping in now and then -- my subconscious seems to have a very specific idea of what he looks like. I've talked to Mouse on the phone. Perpetual Man has appeared as a very large bird. I could wax lyrical about my dreams. They are crazy, sprawling stuff. |

| At the end of reality | Re: When you dream.... As for mine, they're the epitome of eclectic. My nightmares seem to be strange, out-of-place scenarios that nonetheless creep me out. There's not many dreams I can recall right now, other than the set that's never left my mind, but that was years ago and I think I've already mentioned them. My subconscious, however, seems to be able to read the rest of my mind when I sleep because I will usually get dreams of being on other worlds, specifically my own, presumably so I can get an idea of what they're actually meant to look like. But dreams I've had in the past, well, those were freaky, and I really don't know what caused them. |

| Re: When you dream.... I'm one of the few who can remember vividly their dreams. I dream about all sorts of things every night (in color): Flying, a two-fisted gunman blasting bad guys, natural disasters (tornadoes & floods), exploring cities without people, watching alien spacecraft flying around in the day time (hundreds of them), running from monsters, running with wolves at night, playing with dogs, discovering old books, driving cars fast, etc... Then there are some dreams that don't make much sense. Like last night, I dreamt I was walking around different resturants looking at prepared food laid out on tables. I wasn't hungry, I just walked around looking at them, and each place I went to, there was no one there. |

| Re: When you dream.... I often have a classic: Showing up to write an exam at University when I had never attended classes, read books, or had anything generally to do with the course. Never happened, but I'll have that dream 3 or 4 times a year. Falling from ridiculous heights. Those are usually memorable. |

| Re: When you dream.... This is incredibly funny timing! I just had a dream two nights ago where I was at a yard sale (or maybe a flea market -- it kept changing) and the guy selling the stuff was Boneman! Of course, I'm sure he didn't look a thing like the real one, but that's who he said he was, anyway. I found these teapot things, a regular one and some teeny little doll ones that kind of matched, and he was going to sell them to me for $3.00, but I kept talking about how they were such a great match and he looked at them and realized they were worth $9000 and then I couldn't buy them anymore. Gotta learn to keep my mouth shut! I have all kinds of dreams, and usually remember at least bits of them. There's the standard first-day-of-school dream, where I don't know what class to go to because my schedule is in my locker, but I don't know the combination because that's in my locker too, and I can't even find my locker anyway in all the mess of halls. Nixie, I have those flying ones, too -- running along and hardly even hitting the ground with my feet, then I push off into the air and fly. Those are supposed to be out-of-body experiences, aren't they? And then there is the usual jumble of being at some house but it's supposed to be someplace else, with people that are supposed to be certain people but don't look the same, stuff like that. "Well, it was my mom's house, but it wasn't, because there was a door here and these rooms back behind...." Crazy stuff. |

| Re: When you dream.... I have weird dreams, some recurring like a serial. One is of a village & I am on horse back, there's a railway line & a bridge & lots of pretty thatched cottages. I am sure it's a real place, but I have never been there. One day I may & I'll certainly recognise it from my very vivid dream & I dream in colour as well. Another I am in an hotel & I am supposed to be cleaning the rooms, but I keep getting interrupted by other people & am agitated in the dream because I know I'm never going to get my work finished in time. |

| Re: When you dream.... I woke up last night at 3am with a terrific tune going around in my head. This happens to me occasionally, I'm a musician, and this kind of "it came into my head one morning" thing is often how I get tunes. But last night I woke up knowing I'd been dreaming; I dreamed of Paul McCartney, he was playing the piano and singing this song. So for about 60 seconds I lay there thinking, that was a Beatles dream. Then I wondered if the tune was his or mine. It's not one I recognise. So I got up and ran into the studio to record the tune - sampled piano and strings chords; just the basics. Now I'm trying to work out if it's Macca's or a Steve original... About a year ago a similar thing happened, I woke up at about 4 with a fantastic tune going around my head in a kind of heavy synth 'eighties arrangement. I managed to keep it in my head (these tunes "depart" in seconds, just like dreams do) and got to the studio... recorded it about a month ago with one of my regular singers, wow, it sounds great... Funny thing, sleep, innit? |

| Registered User | Re: When you dream.... Dreams...I could go on forever about them...but here are a few highlights ![]() I have falling ones, and ones that I'm being chased in, but one chase dream in particular that I find weird. I am in a deserted boatyard, and all of the boats are really decrepit looking. I'm just walking calmly, because apparently it's my favorite place to be. All of the sudden the sky goes dark and I hear baying dogs. I turn around and no, it's not dogs...it's wolves!! So I start running and running past all of the boats, and then I come to a building where I hope to God there's a door, and there is, and I go in. The building turns out to be a combo of my two favorite libraries (go figure, right?) But somehow the wolves get in and change into these fierce creatures that can stand up on two legs and run after me. Werewolves!! They look like the ones on Harry Potter, but their coats are fuller and they are beautiful in a really scary way. So then a ramp like a wheelchair ramp appears, but it's longer and WAYYYYY more complex than it needs to be...plenty of twists and turns. The wolves start chasing me, and I always wake up after about ten, fifteen minutes of chasing. The really scary part is that I remember when I first had the dream, and I told my sister about it one day after I'd had it again, and she was the age that I was when I first had it, and after a description, we figured it was almost the same exact dream. The boatyard, the library, the wolves...everything was the same or frighteningly similar. Another dream I recall having was another chase dream. I was really young when I had it, so don't judge. Again, I was walking, this time in my woods, I think, when monsters came out of the brush. And these aren't what you would think of as "real" monsters, they were like the monsters off of Monster's Inc.All of the sudden we are in a shadow box like one that my dad has in the basement. It has a glass cover on it, so I can't escape out the front, and the box is rearranging itself into a maze. I'm watching myself from the outside, so I can see what's going on. Then the monsters and I come out onto my old elementary school playground, and start naming off school names (after I realized they were friendly, of course...). I've had more, vivid ones, but I gotta go. I'll post 'em later, because I think they're pretty legit! |
