Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

Springs has been very kind to you all: the nice, wide genre of Speculative Fiction.

Speculative Fiction? What the...

Oh. Never mind. Knee-jerk reaction.

Yay! This sounds cool.

And done! Luck for me that midnight in the UK is still relatively early here. Thank you Springs for the great topic and genre!

I'll admit - I took devotion in the widest sense possible.

Yeah, nice, wide genre of Speculative Fiction. Bah. It's still a Valentine's nightmare theme. It's worse than having Love as a theme.

I don't know, Karn, devotion can be a twisted, twisted thing. And knowing my form, it will be in my story.

That was quick, I've actually done mine. - Probably means it's lousy.

It's a severely butchered chunk of a short(ish) story I tried to write some time ago and never finished. It just seemed to fit the theme. I hope that what remains is still pretty coherent.....

Hey, I didn't say I was going to definitely back out. Especially after my absence last month, I'll try to come up with something.

I'm not making any promises, but I'll try to come up with something. I am starting to come out of things now.

I have a few stories I started to write and never finished that wouldn't have to be butchered much at all to fit the word limit! I can't think of any that would fit the theme, though.

Back in the game.

Actually, I feel this could have some potential. Word cuts, of course, shaved some quality off, but this one is readable, and I hope fitting to the theme.

Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

It looks like some of you must have known the theme before it was Feb. 1 here. Come on guys, give a poor Parson a chance. Quality stories in less than half a day? Bah! I, I, mean good work guys.

This has to be the most challenging story I have thought about - would an imaginary dog count as paranormal ? Would he need to be a ghost dog ?

I might as well have waited until the 23rd of February to see the topic and genre**, because there's every chance that I won't be able to come up with a story before then anyway.

(Unfortunately, I couldn't generate the Challenge thread while wearing a blinfold....)

Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

It's all right, I've known about it for days and I have nothing.

*wanders off muttering about a stupid thing to do*

Entries are all excellent so far; nice to see you back, Karn (at least I didn't go with my first idea... first kiss, YA?)
