Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

@ springs. Although the quality is definitely there, it is hard for any of those writers you name to produce a GRRM-sized doorstopper of a novel in only 75 words.

Even with a really large font size.

Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

Yes, but there's an awful lot of entries, and they each need to be read nice and carefully to make sure I take them all in. So, that's at least 3 cuppas.*

*you aren't going to deny a poor hard working mum her once a month long teabreak to review the challenge entries, are you. Sometimes I even have - wait for it! - cake.

As long as no scones are involved, it will be permitted. I'm going to use a pin this month. Pray for my laptop.

Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

I've yet to read most of the entries this month, so I'll have to go through them a few times. Then I'll use a pin after realising there's too many good entries, again.

What kind of cake, springs? I can provide sticky ginger cake (the only cake I can make really successfully).

That'll do me, all right. (can't bake, me, all offers happily accepted.)

Will it be defrosted by the time it gets here?

Should be. It's actually reaching the dizzy heights of 5°C during the day now. T-shirt weather! Mind you, I've got hungry dogs, so they might scoff it before I can get to the post office.

At the risk of a slap or a visit from an old friend of mine by the name of Brendan, I thought that was what it did over there, springs - Rain!

Re: Discussion - February 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

@ Aber. Brendan, my mate - there's a lot here - says Slap!

Even by Irish standards it's very, very soggy. Grass is growing lovely, to cut it risks electrocution. I need to get a goat....
to get back on thread and not earn myself a diffenent slap, I am pulling out my notebook and pen and rolling up my sleeves. here goes...

There is still a little more than an hour left. We might yet break our new record.

Sixty is such a nice round number, too - surely someone else has a story in them?
