Oh, wow! I didn't expect this at all, and I'm really really delighted; right up there with Moonbat's conga dance. I stayed up to see, I knew I wouldn't sleep.

Ty to everyone who voted for me, I shall now go and lie down and get over the shock!

And while you are doing that, you can give some thought to next month's theme and genre.

(That ought to keep you awake!)

Thank you to paranoid marvin and The Judge for the votes!

Wow. Thanks Ursa

Congratulations Springs!

At least you can get some sleep now! Wonder what theme you'll dream up though?

Re: Discussion - January 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

Congratulations, springs! I'd have to check, but I think this is the first time that we've all been completely correct in saying that the bar was set too high from the start! I have to admit that I hadn't realized your story was shaped in a cross -- I did know that it was a headstone, but hadn't noticed the cross (not entirely sure how I could miss that) until it was pointed out. That just made it even better!

And now that the 75 Word Challenge for this month is well and truly finished ... there are still a couple of days left to write those 300 Word stories!

Yeah, yeah, I'm workin' on it!

...all evidence to the contrary, as it would appear that I am posting here instead...

Re: Discussion - January 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

Wow, another vote! Thanks, Moonbat - it certainly did make a difference to me, if not to the competition!

Congrats, springs. You set the bar very high from the start. Teresa's was a close second for mine, with HareBrain a hair's (a hare's hair's?) breadth behind her.

Re: Discussion - January 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

Good win, springs. I wanted to vote, but my mood's been awful lately and I felt like I couldn't even read any of the entries, and of course it's not fair to vote on a quick whim.

I'll see how things go for February, I doubt things'll be different.

Re: Discussion - January 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

CONGRATULATIONS SPRINGS!!!!!

From the disheartening moment when I read your fantastic entry, and realised that nothing I could write would ever match up to it, I was pretty confident you'd do very well this month. Well done.

*Go a bit easier on next months theme eh? The brain-ache from this last one was terrible!!!*

Re: Discussion - January 2011 - 75 Word Challenge

If it winds up being a Valentine theme, though, I'm stepping out again. I'm not good with that lovey-dovey stuff.
