I did lol and that is what happened Now I am just confuddled with it and I don't know where to start, so thought a general how to post might help more. Blasted thing has taken me a year to write next month, the novel with rewrites only took me about six months in total. Part of my problem is I tend to go all museum label/non fiction writer with it.

just had a look; I remember it now, the one with the grungey prince. I quite liked it, why not stick the rewrite up?

Thanks for the great and complimentary review Perp. Actually there's one more slightly obscure layer that you might have missed (though it is more of a fun one) I might mention it after voting is done.

I might give it an edit and do that hmm ... wonder if writing it with some distance from the book might help. OK thanks for the shove. Think I have been developing anxiety issues over it which isn't my usual state - anyway better not derail this more.

HeHe I thought it might be too obvious but it does help explain the last couple of lines! And I stress it is just meant to be in fun!

It's good to be back thanks Anya - as you are aware I've been around, just being quiet. I'm a lot better, still carrying a little hangover from the chest infection but I feel fine.

Perp Man - thanks for great review.
It's good to hear these ideas played-back and see that they work. There's a couple of little motifs in there I'm really pleased with, & I'm tempted to develop this story further...
