| Re: The new Dr who Quote:
The last season has had some terrific writing and goes some way towards offering hope for the future of the series - rumours aside of RTD's deathwish for the franchise after he's done with it (I don't think I started the rumour with the last sentence, I'm sure I heard someone else saying it before). Doctor Who is still an excellent format and a fascinating premise. With good writing, stories like Blink and the one where the Doctor hid in his watch (the title will come to me, but you know the one I mean), it can challenge anything currently on the telly and win. With bad handling - anything by RTD - it can be risible. | |

| Re: The new Dr who BBC is re-running Shada on Mon, Tue, Wed nights - and, of course, Listen Again. This is the Douglas Adams story, abandonned due to a technicians strike, reconstituted for Paul McGann and Lala Ward, with James Fox among the co-stars. Anyone who has read Adams' Dirk Gently will recognise Professor Chronotis. INTRUDER ALERT - Harry Enfield to play Dirk Gently in new BBC series??? O-kaaaaay. |
