| Re: New Prometheus trailer! Not wanting to answer for Mr Palmer, but I watched Alien on the box the other night and it took me back to that time when I was a young teen going to see it at night, and jaysus if it didn't scare the terwilligers out of me. The atmosphere of that movie has never ever been recaptured. It was the ultimate suspense thriller. Cameron just made an action flick. The Prometheus short is too long. It is trying to dazzle us. I want to see it, and I usually have faith in Ridley Scott, but if I am blown away then I will be surprised. |

The thing that was really great to me about Alien is it was a pre-CGIscience fiction movie that damn near set the standard for suspense. This looks like entirely the opposite. In the original, you didn't even see the damn alien that often. You had long scenes leading up to it, where it's presence was suggested and hinted at, and when it finally made an appearance it leaped out of the shadows. This teaser suggests this movie is the opposite of that. No suspense, show every detail. Suspense is just about dead in the cinema these days. | |

| Thomas M. Grimes | Re: New Prometheus trailer! I still remain optimistic about this movie, due to it being a genuine Ridley Scott. If anyone else were making the movie, well, I'd be full of fear and loathing. I guess we'll all find out soon enough whether hopes are dashed or concerns are unfounded |

| Re: New Prometheus trailer! After watching the trailer it's possible to think of all kinds of scenarios. But there's sufficient ambiguity to get me into the theater with no problem. I anticipate plenty of surprises. |
