I was remembering the first time I auditioned for the school musical. I thought that I should show up without having glanced at the script, and by the time I was done reciting it with all the appropriate emotional kicks, the montage would be spinning to a close on packed seats of people cheering me on.

But I also still thought kissing was all it took to get a happily ever after.
