| Re: What horror creatures creep you the Hell out? Yeah but he wasn't a sweet we generally had around the house. The Kandy Man was my Mum's favourite Nor was he commanded by Shiela Hancock with pink hair |

I can deal with monsters (except for Stephen King monsters) easily but ghosty-types have me clutching the duvet over my head.

| Purr-fectly crazy | Re: What horror creatures creep you the Hell out? When I was a child, I refused to sleep with my dolls facing me. I'd either pack them away in a cupboard or I'd turn them to face the wall. I couldn't sleep with the thought of those dead eyes on me all night. * shudder * |

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: What horror creatures creep you the Hell out? I've realised that 70s style lounges -- just lounges -- freak me out a little bit. Those porcelain dogs on the mantle, the blankets over the backs of the chairs...I think it's because it reminds me of the poltergeist story I wrote about. Or just because...70s lounges, man. Weird places. |

| Re: What horror creatures creep you the Hell out? Trees When I was really little there was a show on tv, might have been called nightmares but it was a twilight zone/stand alone episodes type of series, I can't remember if it was a kids show or something I shouldn't have been watching, I moved towns when I was 7 so I was younger than that at least. One episode a mean farmer clears trees to make room for his flowers or something like that, its all very hazy but in the end he is turned into a tree. I remember the special effects as he changed and that the idea of eternity as a tree in a dark forrest was more scary than any vampires, monsters or aliens. |

For me, it's anything you can only see at the edge of your vision, and which disappears when you look straight at it. Especially in a wet wood at dusk. And which you think -- but can't be sure -- might be wearing a top hat.

Actually, the top hat alone might be reason for freaking out.

| Dramatically tremendous | Re: What horror creatures creep you the Hell out? I have to say vampires, after the scene in Salem's lot "I'll see you sleep like the dead, teacher"; the written one, not the film though. Partially because I read it in the middle of a dark insomniac night, in halls at uni, and then realised I only ever saw the security guard at night; horror into reality, I've never really got past that... Therapy, anyone? |
