Mary Sue test... A bit of fun, to see if your main character is really original, or powered by your id (or even your ego)... http://www.springhole.net/quizzes/marysue.htm

Re: Mary Sue test... I'm quite skeptical of this test. When ever you put anything that makes the character interesting in part 1 it goes up. A lot of the things in part 5 (the de-suifiers) are pretty common in a lot of characters and do not make them unique. Such as: 1. Use character's weaknesses as a plot device 10. Debilitating phobia that does not mysteriously disappear at a crucial moment. 12.Bad past with parents (at least with troubled characters) 14. Overcomes tough problem that seemed hopeless, difficult and/or took a long time. 15. Character doubts they do the right thing (even though they usually did the right thing) 23. Vampire part 22. Act in strange ways It also doesn't take into account the uniqueness of the combinations of traits the can make characters interesting or not.

Re: Mary Sue test... Hmmm. Don;t know about this test. I did my best with my main character and she scored a 17, which is borderline for needing a bit of spicing up. Sure, this little test gave me a few moments to think about my main character, but it really didn't feel that satisfying.

Re: Mary Sue test... I'm pretty sure my little guy (or really, all three of them together) only scored so low because (1) they are kids, so all the sex questions don't apply, and (2) at least one of them is modeled after my son, but not me, so those questions don't technically apply either.
