| Help? New to the Forum-hello! I'm trying to remember the title or author of a book I read-the hero is a troubadour who ends up going to a somewhat barren world and spicing it up a bit. There is some kind of instantaneous transport, and people who die can have their memories/selves saved, at least for a while. When I say "troubadour" I mean that literally-I believe he speaks Languedoc or whatever the correct word is. I think the weapons used in the hero's early duel were not "real" in the normal sense-all damage caused was an illusion, but the illusion was so perfect that a person who sustained a "wound" needed time to heal. I also believe that the book is part of a series. Thank you. |
