Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die My friend has mentioned at points in several episodes, "It's gonna hit the fan now!" or "Oh, now he's done it." or "Why did she do that? There's no coming back from that!" or "Holy smokes! It's on now." From his reactions, I judge that HBO is doing a decent job of presenting GRRM's shocking moments. I think his mind will be fried in the last four episodes.

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die This is a cracking episode. Great interplay between Tywin and Jaime. Charles Dance looks perfect as Tywin and might just steal the show from Peter Dinklage. For those who are peeved off with the screen time of Roz....they could very well be outraged after this episode. I think she is great ![]() The ending is perfect and even knowing what was to happen I was still shocked at it.

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die I though the scene with Tywin was pure genius having the dialog fit perfectly with him "skinning a stag" at the same time as he talks about esentially replacing baratheon power with lanister power. Only downfall was tywin did not look right at all .

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die DFS, I agree with you regarding Tywin's appearance. My apologies, svalbard, but Tywin should be bald. He should have obnoxiously huge sideburns. That being said, I won't say anything else on the matter. It's an interpretation of a book brought to television. For Pete's sake, I'm already sarting to say Jay-me instead of Jaym. I'm not going to complain about a haircut.

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die I just watched epi 7, not having HBO GO. I absoultely loved the Jaime-Tywin scene. Genius doesn't go fare enough when describing it. The info-hump (I think it was ursa that coined that one) left me thinking that Roz is replacing Shae. Can anyone confirm this? It certainly clarified (for those who may have been ducking when the hammer was being pounded in previous episodes) Littlefinger's feelings about Cat. The scene with Drogo was amazing. I was ready to jump on a ship and join him by the time he was done. One of the most powerful scenes of the season so far. I loved jon and Sam taking their vows. i must admit that I got goosebumps and shed a tear or two watching them in front of the Weirwood

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die I was pumped up as well on the Drogo scene. He could have topped it off with a Triple H "crotch chop". Or a Aaron Rodgers belt simulation gesture. He quickly rose to one of my favorite characters in the series, and the look Dany had on her face sealed that scene. (I think the blank/dazed expressions are now over) ![]() Side note: was watching with the wife (TVSOV**) and she was just as excited. (Didn't realize how much until later that night) ![]() She did however pause when he said he'll rape their women, but the scene was delivered brilliantly. The whole episode was awesome, and will be looking forward to the GRRM directed episode coming next week. We all know how great a writer he is, but hopefully, his previous experience directing will shine through. He does however have big shoes to fill as the main directors are doing one hell of a job. ** TVSOV = TV Series only viewer.

GRRM actually has a long history of writing for TV, rather than directing. I'm really hoping for a few things that I can only mention on the lit board's spoiler ection. | |

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die THIS WAS A FANTASTIC EPISODE! Littlefinger, Jaime and Sam really shone through in this one. Ned was played very well, as usual. So was Joff. I want to be Khal Drogo!!!

If you check the full cast list on imdb, you'll see that the part of Shae has been cast and will be played by Sibel Kekilli (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1402546/). | |

Re: 1.07 Game of Thrones - You Win or You Die Favourite scene of this episode was Drogo, by a mile! Loved the Jaime/Tywin scene too. I loved that at the start of that scene you see row upon row of crimson tents, so you know right away that you're in Lannister Land. Well done to the set designers!
