| Comment Giver | Re: I think there might be a virus problem :( Has been clear all day, just signed in and got hit four times. Don't know if it's a one off relapse, or Chrons is under attack again. I had the initial warning from Google saying the site was a recognised 'bad' one. Then both AVG and Avast went off, claiming exploit black hole exploit kit was running, and when I tried to back away it went off again... |

I just clicked on the Doctor Who link you put up in your Amy Pond thread, and... all manner of virus warnings went off again... The: exploit blackhole exploit kit one again And I've cleared my cache... I wonder if anyone else has the same? |

| Re: I think there might be a virus problem :( Clicking on Home, then returning here brought a series of alerts up. (I'm getting quite used to pressing Ctrl-Shift-Delete, which brings up the cache wiper in IE8.) |

| Re: I think there might be a virus problem :( No alert this time. Thanks. ![]() ![]() As an aside, the previous time I went to Home and returned, I had to click on the back button twice. (One click sufficed this time.) Before the alerts started appearing, I occasionally met this problem before, i.e. having to click twice on Back for it to work. It may be that what I was experiencing was a result of the first malicious changes being made, changes to facilitate the later, alert-prompting, attack. For instance, I don't recall having this problem on other sites I was visiting at the time. Or perhaps it was just a coincidence. |

| Never Sure | Re: I think there might be a virus problem :( Same here. New Google warning bit earlier. Emptied cache, ran Norton scan. Back to normal. I spent quite a while earlier reading ANNOUNCEMENTS dating back to inception of SFFC and now realize this sort of thing is not exactly new to Brian, but the worms and viruses, trojans and so on are getting more sophisticated all the time. There's the 'ghost' thing, where the virus is paired, so if you kill one half of the pair, the other half recreates the twin, in milliseconds -- so you have to kill them both at once, in the same millisecond -- that's not easy to do -- and that's an old virus trick. It also made me realize how long and hard you've worked to build up the SFFC. It's mostly obvious that SFFC has a very loyal and long standing band of members who will not be put off by this kind of thing ... Last edited by RJM Corbet; 12th May 2011 at 11:41 PM. |

| Goblin Princess | Re: I think there might be a virus problem :( The Home Page is fine for me, but when I click on that particular article about Amy Pond, I still get the virus warning. Still emptying my cache and wiping my history after every try, but it does no good. |
