Do not even suggest such a thing. The only way that would be acceptable would be if he pumped out another book in the safehold series in between, I could probably tolerate it then.

| Re: David Weber Just found on the David Weber site Official Announcement: 6th Safehold Novel, Midst Toil and Tribulation, is scheduled for a September 18, 2012 release date. I am going to assume because it has a release date that it is basically done and in editing back and forth phase meaning (I choose to assume) he can turn his talents to the next in the Honor Harrington Series. Based on my assumptions I am pleased as punch....do not pop my bubble. ![]() also found this: Official Announcement: War Maid's Choice, 4th Bahzell Novel, is scheduled for release on July 3, 2012. This is already available as an ARC at Baen if memory serves so I will be surprised if the final e-book version is not out a bit before the above date. This makes 3 books in 2012, I am tickled. Also found the following there: Title Summary
Still, their strong and direct bond of feeling may be enough. Stephanie and fellow ranger Karl Zivonik respond to Climbs Quickly’s rising waves of distress. Fire season on the pioneer world of Sphinx has begun. But there are those who want to use the natural cycle of the planet for personal gain –and to get rid of the one obstacle that stands in the way of acquiring even greater land and power on Spinx: the native treecats. Now it’s up to Stephanie, Climbs Quickly along with their friends, family, and allies to prevent disaster and injustice from befalling a treecat clan. But in the process Stephanie must be certain to preserve the greatest secret all. It is the knowledge that the treecats of Sphinx are not merely pets or servants, but are highly intelligent in their own right–that they are a species fully deserving of rights, respect, and freedom. And keeping the secret that will allow the treecats time to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with humankind. It all begins with the friendship of a girl and her treecat. Make that 4 books. |

I for one enjoyed them all. I have also enjoyed his efforts with Eric Flint both in his own HH universe and in Flint's 1632 universe. I also enjoyed his collaborations with Linda Evans and loved his March to..... series with John Ringo. Bigger than life characters kickin ass and taking names, not sure why that appeals to me so much but it sure does.

So I thought, well, maybe the other guy was responsible for the good parts of the Star Fire series and have since then read almost all of Weber's stuff (l don't like alternative history and the Multiverse stories don't really sound as if they would hit the spot with me). Just started in on In Fire Forged.

| This world is not my home | Re: David Weber I've read almost all Weber's stuff, but I'm with you the alternative history stuff just hasn't turned my crank enough to even give them a go. The Multiverse stuff I like, but not nearly so much as the "Honorverse" or the "Safehold" series. For me the Honor Harrington books are without peer among Weber's stuff. |
