Timeline/reading order for known space
I've heard cool things about Known Space, but in looking around the internet I can't seem to find a comprehensive list of books in the series and where in the timeline they occur. I found a couple, but they seem to contain fewer volumes/stories than the total unsorted Known Space story lists I can find.
There's an awful lot of material there and I don't want to jump back and forth through it if I can help it. Is there a good resource for this out there anyplace?

Re: Timeline/reading order for known space
Well, it's going to be difficult, not least because the increased life spans of some of the characters have some stories lasting several thousand years. Furthermore, the stories were not written in chronological order, and numerous of the key happenings were in short stories were in collections that also contained information from other periods, or from outside the known space timeline entirely.
Science Fiction Timeline Site . . . Larry Niven's Known Space . . . seems to be canon in attempting to keep the Niven "mainline" stories, the "War with the Kzin" collaborations and the gaming spinoff in reasonable harmony as regards timing, but do you have to read the long ARM of Gil Hamilton" before "Neutron star", just because Beowulf Schaeffer was born after Gil's death? I couldn't, and I can't see where it harmed the experience. Sure "At the core" follows on (more or less) from "Neutron Star; but if you get them both in "Crashlander", you'll follow them into the lifetime of Louis Wu…
And a cloak of anarchy could fit into a very wide swathe of history.
