But while it's not original, it is well done. I only hope the projected second (13 episode) series, can continue the standards. | |

| Re: The Walking Dead The best thing about this show is the approach they are taking. While everyone has seen shambling zombies before (and patients who wake up after armageddon), The Walking Dead is clearly taking a more character-driven approach to the genre. For example, in most zombie flicks Zack is just a force of nature; a dangerous creature and is treated as such by the characters. But in TWD, the characters--for the most part--understand that the 'walkers' were once human beings. The little touches are what impress me about the show. Honestly, it's a thinking-man's zombie story. Obviously the comic book the show is based on has been very successful and the guy who writes it is deeply involved with the TV show yet is enthusiastic about some of the modifications they've made. It's going to be a long wait until next October when season 2 starts. |

| If you see a stranger... | Re: The Walking Dead I thought it pretty dull in the beginning too, Mouse. I only begrudgingly watched ep 2 out of boredom, but it was a little bet er than ep 1. Same with 3. And 4. If it keeps this up, it will be a helluva show by next year! |

| Re: The Walking Dead I would never have noticed it 'cept someone mentioned it here. I can't believe how dumb those people were. They park the campers and just sit around while the zombies shamble on in, and then they are too slow-moving to avoid being chowed down on! They have a penchant for the exploding head and also the eating of bits of the still-living, but c'mon...you always have a guard and you have larger weapons, flamethrowers especially. I hope the action picks up in next episodes or I will switch to the hockey game cos it's more violent. |
