| SG-U: 2.05 - Cloverdale While exploring a new planet, Lt. Scott encounters an aggressive plant-like creature that attacks and infects him. Unable to risk bringing an alien contagion back to Destiny, Tamara searches for a way to stop the alien infection from spreading. Scott meanwhile, drifts in and out of consciousness, hallucinating an ideal life back home on earth. As the infection spreads dire reality begins to seep into his dream state. With the more alien organisms surrounding the gate and closing fast, time may well run out on Scott. First thought is slightly off topic - this episode is titled Cloverdale as the scenes in the town were filmed in the town of Cloverdale, Surrey, British Columbia. It's nice that they referenced directly an often used filming location which many of you may have also recognised as Smallville. All in all it was a fine episode which, although not achieving much plot-wise, did set up an interesting situation and pose some questions. Both Chloe and Scott are to be quarantined, but now that they have the same alien enzyme in their bodies, will Scott start displaying similar symptoms/abilities? I have to wonder if Chloe knew in some way that she would be virtually immune to the alien plant infection, or whether she was willing to die with Scott on the planet. I also liked the way they did the exposition of what happened via the movie that they went to see. |

| weaver of the unseen  | Re: SG-U: 2.05 - Cloverdale It was a well done filler episode. Just there wasn't much that happened, but then again there was awfully lot that happened. Yet I couldn't understand why the plant would affect ones dreams in such a way and still be so aggressive. Was there something else happening or was this just pure imagination from the writers team? Don't know but I certainly hope that this episode didn't affect MGM judgement when they decided to can the whole series. |
