Everything read?

Maybe I have misuderstood something, but I sort of figured that a thread title in bold - indicated I hadn't read it whilst not bold indicated I had read it.

Assuming this is the case sometime this afternoon almost every thread on the board (I haven't checked them all ) appears to have been read, including many that I know I haven't read

Re: Everything read?

This has happened to me in the past (and yes, I'm pretty sure your bold/non-bold assumption is correct). I seem to recall it was when I'd had the site open but I hadn't looked at anything for a good long while, and I assumed it was about to drop everything as I hadn't refreshed it in time (if that makes sense). I don't know if that was just co-incidence, though.

Re: Everything read?

Any chance you've clicked on 'Mark Forums Read' under 'Quick Links' by mistake?

Not sure if that has the effect you're talking about, I've never used it myself, but it sounds suspicious.

Re: Everything read?

TJ - much the same with me, and Mosaix no, cos I didn't know that existed, but I do now which could be useful in the future .

But no matter it will sort itself out in time.

Re: Everything read?

Aargh it's done it to me again. I've been out all day today, so when I got back I powered up my machine and came on here. I was last on late last night. Everything on the forum (except stuff posted in the last half hour or so) is indicating that I have read it (even forums that I have never visited). It is really annoying as I have to go checking all the last posted times to figure out if there is anything new. I can't have clicked the mark forums read as I haven't been online to do it!

Any suggestions Brian?

Re: Everything read?

I seem to have the opposite problem - when I do click on "Mark Forums Read", it gives me the message:
