I liked it, I was impressed by the special effects and like.

The story was a little slow, but it needed to set things up for the next two films. When you see Ep. II: AoTC you realise that it did what it had to do well. It did mean that there were a lot of minor characters who were never fully developed though.

On the other hand, Ep. IV did all that too, but is still a great stand-alone film. I wonder that if Ep. I had been made first, we would have got any further episodes.

Jar Jar was annoying and a racial stereotype, but kids identify with him, and think he is funny, and after all, these are kids films! I think these 30-something computer geeks forget that sometimes.

I thought there were too many chase sequences, that obviously tied in to merchandising of pod racer games, and such. AoTC is much better in that regard, going for big battle sequences, and only one chase through an Asteroid belt.

The dialogue has been criticised in both Ep. I and Ep. II but people seem to have forgotten that it was just the same kind of one liners in Ep. IV, V & VI that people loved so much.

It isn't my favoutite SW film, but it was better than Ep. VI RotJ.
