I want to see some proper Dutch football, but I also want to see Torres finally spring into action, sooo: Netherlands 2 - 2 Spain (Spain aet) Spain to win in the end, simply because their team is made up of Barcelona players, who've had one hell of a season. |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp So thaddeus called the third place play-off correctly. (I must say, it was a good game to watch; certainly not as glacial as the Final could be.) It's about time I called the big one. Koninkrijk der Nederlanden 2 - 1 Reino de Espaņa Okay, Netherlands 2 - 1 Spain, but I thought, just for the Final, I ought to use their real names. (With apologies to those speaking Catalā, Euskara, Galego, Occitan, etc.) |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp So...what's the tally on the scores? Is Seph still in touching distance? Or has Cul finally established himself as World Champion? I gues I could look through the charts and fixtures and figure it out. But it's late. |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Doing a little quick mental arithmetic (and "mental" is appropriate here), I reckon Cul's now uncatchable unless he goes for the Netherlands tomorrow, they lose, and Seph gets the correct score.* Otherwise, Cul will win by at least one point. *In the event of this happening, it'll be a tie. I think. (Ergo, no one will win... ) |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Seph's already in France. Surely that's penalty enough without shooting the poor bugger... ![]() On a serious note, how would you sort out the places, Wy? I think they'd even be even (even be even? Now that just don't sound right... ) on correct score predictions. Half a trophy each? |

| Crooked Warden | Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I dont know, I hadnt thought of what to do in the event of a draw. I think if it is a draw then they just share first place, cause if it went on most 4 pointers Seph would win (that is if he got 4 points in the next match and cul did not) and if it went on most games with at least 1 point then Cul would win. I could just get Paul the octopus to decide. Thanks No-One |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I'd say either whoever's had the most 4 pointers OR has spent the longest time at the top of the table, but then you may as well just hand-pick a winner in that case, being as there's a case for both. Odds dictate that it shouldn't come to that though *he says* Maybe they could have an online FIFA world cup play-off... |

| Keep Moving Forward! | Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I'm in favour of a shoot-out. We'll meet halfway - say, Dubai? Hire a pitch, fill the stands with everyone who has participated. I'll check with Brian and see if he'll give me access to the Chrons line of credit to finance it all.... |
