![]() Of course, the dutch just scored as I write and will probably win now. Or Brazil score one more and I'm happy.

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Amazing...Brazil out of the World Cup...who would have thought it. Netherlands 2 - Brazil 1 Brazil basically imploded after scores went level in the second half. Well done to Cul, the only one I think who picked the Netherlands to win. Hopefully Argentina can stay in being my pick for the event. Spain look pretty darn good too though. |

| Causa Scientiae | Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Well, losing a point to Cul means I could really use a perfect result tonight, now. (And I need some kind of result to avoid having my first ever zero points day.) Congrats to the Dutch, though. I'm delighted they're through -- I just didn't think they'd beat Brazil, who have looked so solid. But today, Brazil imploded. Terrible mistake by the keeper for the first, awful defending from the corner for the second, and an idiotic, needless foul by Felipe Melo that left them a man down. Wij houden van Oranje! |

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp A good result for the competition in one way I guess. Would be good to see the Netherlands or Spain win the WC, to have a fresh faced winner so to speak; Argentina my pick notwithstanding. |

I'm going crazy over this result. Never thought it would happen at this stage to be honest. No, I didn't know that was Dutch, albeit I speak German, which is obviously similar. Cheers and night....

| Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Well at least I'm part Dutch (which takes a tiny bit of the point-dropping pain away). And it should be good for the competition. While the Dutch played (and play) really well, they don't take that aura of incincibility into a game in the way that Brazil often does. It should make for an interesting final. And a run of success has ended: I think I'm right in saying that whenever the World Cup Final is held outside of Europe and Latin America**, Brazil has won: in both the US** and Japan. But not in South Africa. ** - On the basis that the US is not yet in Latin America. |
