| Causa Scientiae | Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I beg to differ, sir. I've had a good couple of days, but I don't think I will consistently pull in the extra points I need to overhaul you. With so few games left, and given your form up 'til now, I think you'll bag enough to keep yourself in a comfy lead. There's no way my luck of the past two days will hold for the rest of the tourney. ![]() If I manage to hang on to the overall runner-up spot, I'll be more than happy -- but that is by no means guaranteed, either. I could still end up finishing fifth or sixth.... |

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp There are still twelve games to go (4 x last-16, four quarter finals, two semi-finals, the third-place play-off and the Final), giving a possible 44 points. I'm expecting to collect no more than half-a-dozen of them, so your runner's up spot is safe from me. (And now I have 42 stories to rank....)

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Never! Although not quite rock bottom anymore, I'm perhaps the lowest ranked chap who has posted forecasts for each and every game thus far. To quote Gandalf at you: You shall not pass! [me to become the worst predictor in this competition].

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Not that it makes any difference to the standings (I'm way too far behind for that), but I think I'm short a point, Wy. Should have had 4 for the Uruguay game, plus 1 for the Germany win and 1 for the Argentina win.

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Phoee foiled again!... Wanders back to Jacuzzi to pour a drink from the revolving bar and begins watching soccer preview shows before the first game...England v. Germany first half was probably the most exciting half of soccer I've so far seen in the WC.
