Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Darn no-one you should have posted anyway. I'm sure they may have let it go, albeit Uruguay did score within that 10 minutes LOL! So far Uruguay lead 1 - 0 C'mon one more goal you good thing and another sweet 4 points Yeh!.. ![]() Seph...confusing you was part of my Master Plan..MUWAHA!!!.... Now that I've got rid of number 4 and I'm running rings around Number 3 aka The Bear, it's time to take care of the only one currently ahead of me....a dose of cane toad repellent perchance?.....![]() EDIT: ARGH! Phoee! Korea equalise 1 -1 Damn! those penalty shootout lot are going to get the best of me yet. *Shakes fist* I'm off to sleep, we'll see if something can be salvaged by the morning....SIGH.

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp lol - that's okay Gollum, and as you say Uruguay were already one up. If I posted my prediction of 1-1 (with Uruguay to win in extra time), it may have seemed a little suspect. And Uruguay have just scored anyway (2-1). A good thing too, cause my prediction was on-target for a while there. Would've preferred Korea scoring though.

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp At least I've collected one point from today, unlike nearly everyone else. ![]() (And I'm not confident of collecting many more.) But I did get to see a superb strike for the second Uruguay goal from Suarez.

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I suppose I should get these in now, as I might not have the chance tomorrow. On a side note to Wybren, I've not quite had the time to thoroughly understand the rules regarding extra time/penalties etc (and god forbid I should throw my thoughts into the mix - this is looking complicated enough!). So, until then, I'll just provide the relevant information ![]() Anyway, I'm going to scupper my chances by going for some extravagant picks on the off-chance I can take all the points for myself: Germany 2 - 2 England (England win 3-2 in extra time*) Argentina 3 - 2 Mexico *though I'm praying for a penalty shoot-out, just for the drama of it.

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Ghana 1-0 up after half an hour (well, after 5 minutes, actually, but...well, still 1-0 up after half an hour ). And I'd made such a good start with the Uruguay game, too.

| Crooked Warden | Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp Ok, so before I go and tally up the points I think we need a clear understanding of the points for this round. Tipping a winner (but not the scoreline)1 point (This goes also for incorrectly tipping the scoreline of a draw but picking the correct winner) Tipping a draw with the correct draw score line but not the correct winner in overtime 3 points (ie you tip DRAW 1-1 team B and team A wins but the score is 1-1 before overtime) Tipping the winner and the correct scoreline 4 points. This can be made up via 3 ways 1 - Tipping team A wins 3-1 and this is the score 2- Tipping Draw 1-1(team A) and the game draws at 1-1 and team A wins in over time 3 You tip Team A 2-1 the game draws at 1-1 and then Team A wins in overtime thus having the score as 2-1 Does that seem reasonable?? |

Re: FIFA WC Tipping comp I'm not sure about number two on that list, Wy (as a win in overtime, but before penalties, means that the final scoreline was not 1-1**.) I'd have given a prediction of 1-1 in these circumstances only 1 point***. If, however, the score remained at 1-1 after extra time and the tie was resolved with a penalty shootout, four points would be correct. But that's just me. You came up with the original rules, so it's your call. ** - It was 2-1 in tonight's game, for instance. *** - I can see that I may be talking myself out of three points here.
