| I'm probably the only newbie on the planet Is it likely there's anyone else (among those who would even consider being a fan) who is starting fresh on Doctor Who with this new series? I'm ducking, as I know people should throw things at me here. It's just one of those things that I've heard of for decades and never gotten around to watching ... until now. I'll have to check out all the seasoned perspectives from all of you who have seen all the previous incarnations, and eventually find a way to catch up on the past. Of course, now that this Doctor is in my brain as "the first", I'll probably never like any of the past ones as much. ![]() That said, I'm hooked! How could I have gone all my life without this show? I now see that it was a forlorn existence, and I feel lucky to have seen the light. |

| Luna tick | Re: I'm probably the only newbie on the planet I personally am not a newbie to DW for this series, but my Girlfriend is. She thought DW was for kinds until I sat down on saturdays to watch it, actually she still thought it was for kids until SHE sat down with me and watched an episode. Oh no! I tell a lie, she watched the season finale from last series, the David Tennant/Master battle with the time lords of Gallifrey. So no. Sorry. |

| Re: I'm probably the only newbie on the planet I'm not far off a newbie. Tennant and Martha was my first series. Before that I saw a couple of episodes (I think the "Are You My Mommy?" ones were the first...Moffat love <3). This series is the first one that I've actually sat down, watched each episode many times, and tried to actually figure out everything |

| Goblin Princess | Re: I'm probably the only newbie on the planet You're in Colorado, right? There must be a Public Television station or two somewhere in your area. Sometimes PBS will run an old Doctor Who series. If you want to catch up with some of the old episodes, you could watch their listings and see if they have anything going on now. I know that all the Eccleston and Tennant episodes are available on DVD, and some of the shows from the older series, too. If you ever rent movies, you should check wherever it is you rent them from and see if they have Seasons 1 through 4 of the new series. Many places do. |
