Virus problems yesterday?

I don't know if it was Chrons (I had a good few tabs open) but yesterday when I tried to get to the site I got around 5 or 6 virus warnings and my opera browser shut down all a matter a moments after clicking to come to chrons.

No warnings today and no problems logging in (tried to come back later in the day only to get nothing on the page to load).

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

We had a plugin play up which mean it tried to set up an iframe that it wasn't supposed to - I wasn't aware of any virus warnings, though, but I'll keep an eye out for that.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

I had the same problem, I came here and firefox shut down and I got an AVG virus alert. I cleaned them up and it has been ok since.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

I had a bunch of virus warnings as well, but like Or, I had a few tabs open, so I didn't think it was Chrons, but maybe it was???? Is fine today though.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

Some anti-virus software do treat iframes as viruses, even when there is no problem. It's an AV problem rather than there being anything really wrong.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

I am getting crazy errors too, and I just upgraded back to IE8 after a total crash. Just now, I tried to reply to a post by Karn in this forum, and it sends me back to the login page over and over. Then I enter this thread, click reply and don't even have to log in... very strange.
Earlier I could only send PMs, no threads accesible.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

Sounds like a browser issue - refused to download IE8 or use it.

Try Firefox instead? Safer browser.

If only I were so fortunate. I switched over to Google Chrome myself. For some reason, IE8 doesn't get along with Chrons......

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

What browser are you using? I'd go to Firefox or something different. Opera comes highly recommended by some of the more tech-savvy members around here. I haven't used IE for days now ever since my own problems started with it......

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

It might be your own computer then, J Riff, because ever since I've switched over to Chrome I've had no problems.....

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

I've heard reported issues with chrome sometimes being unable to display vbulletin forums properly. It's just a piece of spyware for Google to track user behaviour anyway.

Firefox is safer and more private.

Re: Virus problems yesterday?

Still doing it - attempt to log in and post to a thread - back to login page. Login at top of page - seems fine, altho there are certain threads I can't reply to. Virus-free here, never had a prob with IE8, Chrome was a nightmare on this PC.
Thing about installing Firefox is, one still needs IE on there anyway, or quirky stuff happens.
