Firefox upgrade issues

Is anyone else experiencing an issue with the new Firefox with regards to login details? If I come to the chrons using a direct link to the forums, it comes up as logged out; if I log in from that page, I'm redirected back to a logged out page.

It has to be client side, I think, as if I got to *any* thread or post on the forum from there, presto change-o; I'm logged in!

Anyway, my quick fix has been to change a bookmark so that I'm going straight to a randomly chosen thread as opposed to the front page.

Anyone else seen this happening?

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I use Firefox on my laptop and as I had had to reinstall Windows on it recently, I also had no choice but to get the latest version of FF as well, and I have to say, I've never had any issues with it.......personally, I've had more issues with Explorer than Firefox.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

We can draw from this the conclusion that my PC hates me, and is just being vindictive.

I KNEW IT!

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I'm sure it doesn't hate you!

There must be some other technical problem that is causing it. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of computers will be along soon to help you

I'm not the one who will be along shortly and knows more, but I can tell you Firefox and I get along great with Chrons.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I use Firefox and upgraded to 3.6 and have no issues. One thing about Firefox though, it does have a lot of add-ons and extensions. They also usually need to be upgraded after upgrading the Firefox version. It might be one of your add-ons such as 'No-Script' that is causing the problem.

Try clearing your browser cache - Tools > Options

See if that helps.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I had all sorts of problems upgrading - messed about my bookmarks and so on. Got so annoying I switched to Opera, which is okay. But I keep an earlier version of Firefox on hand for the add-ons.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I use Firefox and I've had a few random problems with timing out but never a 'logged out' message. I've also upgraded recently and there's been no difference between before and after. Sorry that doesn't help you any.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

During one of the last updates I started having trouble with Java and Firefox so used it as an excuse to try out Opera, I noticed there was some new FF updates today but I think I'll give Opera another week or so before settling on one.

Re: Firefox upgrade issues

I have to use FF on this laptop and I dont like it! No clickable scroll bar on the right, a constant 'Allow' button everytime I go to post a message on a forum and no Alphabetical ordering of your Favourites-you have to do it manually!
