if you could go back in time (just once) what would you do?

I would spend more time with my Father before he died. He passed when he was 51 years old. Up to that point he had 8 bypass surgeries, a massive heart attack (he lived through it) and 2 leg amputations due to diabetes. I guess I just expected him to come home from the hospital. I was young and naive. What I regret most is not taking the time to slow down and smell the roses so to speak. I'm very lucky to have my Mom still alive and cherish every minute. However I was a Daddy's girl and I just wish I wasn't so selfish as I was in my early 20's.

This is a good post, Alysheba. I think most of us who have lost close relatives probably feel the same. The younger we were when it happened then the less likely we were to have fully appreciated them when they were alive.

Also, it's only with the passage of time that we can look back and truly understand the true value of a relationship.

I think the comments in this thread represent a good balance between the profound and the flippant so don't feel bad. The funny ones are just as important, albeit in a different way, as the serious ones.

If I could go back and not have to return, I'd go back to Swinging 60s London, and witness all the amazing music of the late 60s & early 70s.

But if it's just a visit and I had to return, I'd like to go to early 15th century China to persuade Zheng He to sail his fleet in the other direction, and visit the Americas instead of Africa.
