Humans Murdered for Their Fat

This is a gruesome story out of Peru. It seems a Peruvian gang murdered at least 60 people and then sold their body fat for use in cosmetics. Sadly, it appears that if something is worth enough money there are those who will murder to obtain it.

It's a horrible case.

Peruvian authorities have taken three men and a woman into custody and are hunting two unnamed Italians suspected of buying human fat for as much as $15,000 a litre--to be used in European cosmetics.

And it makes you wonder what's in your hand cream....... :S

I did wonder if it was true - wasn't it an episode of 'Doctor Who'? Or of 'Family Guy'?

Did make me wonder! Murderers are generally not thought to be top in the brain stakes and so the thought did occur as to how they extracted the fat and how the cosmetic companies didn't actually know what type of "animal" it came from! So, was relieved to find that it actually was a lie and that murder was not actually turning into sophistication!
