It would only take one to get Maybourne released, or even on bail, and his old chums would probably be very willing to help him into secret, even if he didn't already have his own plans for staying out of harms way in a series of safe houses...
If Jack can get him out for Chain Reaction, many others (including the most likely, Kinsey) would be able to stop him getting there in the first place, at least long enough to run.
or maybe they intended Chain Reaction to go out before Watergate. |
