Hi AE35, I used to order it through my local newsagent but, for some reason, they told me it had stopped being published. Untrue of course.

I contacted Analog direct and ordered it through them. It now comes through the post from a UK distributor. And guess what? It's cheaper that way.

Let me know if you want details and I'll get them to you.

Re: Magazine Thread?

I subscribed to F&SF for a year and Asimov's for a year. I liked them both. If you're a budding writer and want to start establishing a name for yourself, these two mags, in the US at least, are the prime places to try to place your fiction.

Tough competition though. I haven't cracked them yet.

Re: Magazine Thread?

I used to subscribe to F&SF. Great mag. Usually grab any of their anthologies when I come across them book hunting.

Re: Magazine Thread?

Magazine wise, i'm still getting SFX and Sci-Fi now. When i see it, i will get Deathray as it does focus on different aspect of SF that you don't normally see covered in the other two. (Fantasy Artists for example.)

I get the Star Wars insider magazine as well.

Imagine a little deer. He's walking slowly up to a stream and he's about to put his cute little nose down and drink the cool water, and, BAM!, you shoot 'em in the f'ing head!

Or something like that. That movie is fantastic.

Oh my, yes. Lots of genre magazines to choose from. For many of these you can order single issues to try out if you can't find them locally, which seems likely for all but the biggest titles.

Back in the day when I DID subscribe to SF periodicals, it was Analog (Astounding Science Fiction), The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Galaxy, If, Amazing, Fantastic, etc. Most are gone now. Now you know how old I am.
