| Irregular Verbs that should be The English language has many irregular verbs. However, some that should exist aren't there. This is where we can recommend additions. For example bring / brang / brung - they had it in Old English dagnabbit swell / swole / swollen - Middle English fling / flang / flung - it just sounds right And words ending in a t sound should be spelled (or spelt) with a t not an ed. The Brits get to; why can't I? Anyone got any more? |

| Re: Irregular Verbs that should be I think it was in the book Made in America that Bill Bryson explains why you Americans talk and spell like you do. IIRC it's something to do with our language evolving in a slightly different direction since about the reign of Queen Anne |
