User CP - Am I seeing things? - Science Fiction Fantasy Chronicles: forums

Just lately (and this is where I can't be sure I'm not going balmy) I could swear that when I first sign on and go to the CP I see perhaps seven new posts since my last visit. In the usual way, I have a peek at one to see what's going on and then go back to via the User CP button and everything works OK.

However if I make a post, or perhaps spend too much time on the thread, when I go back to the CP using the button, the number of new posts since my last visit has shrunk to two (or whatever). Almost as if it's now become the number of new posts since I last went my control panel.

Yes, the forum software updates regularly, so if you stay on the forums for a while, the "new" posts will change from the latest update, rather than when you first logged in.

If the numbers are reducing, then perhaps - just perhaps - the end truly is .... nahhhh ...
