Re: Whats The Right Order

hi - welcome to the forums!

I would say it's usually best to read them in order but another way to do it would be to read them in batches by "character"

By that I mean, read all the Witches novels together in order, then the City Watch ones in order, then the Death ones and then the Rincewind ones in order. There are also several 'stand-alone' novels he has. I've had a stab at listing them below

Witches
Equal Rites
Sourcery
Wyrd Sisters
Witches Abroad
Lords & Ladies
Maskerade
Carpe Jugulum

City Watch
Guards Guards
Men-at-Arms
Feet of Clay
Jingo
The Fifth Elephant
Night Watch

Death
Mort
Reaper Man
Soul Music
Hogfather

Rincewind
The Colour of Magic
The Light Fantastic
Interesting Times
The Last Continent

and the rest tend to be stand-alone novels. I won't bother listing them here as they're comphrensively listed in his books anyway

I think, Sourcery is about Rincewind, and so is the book you did not mention here - Eric.

Re: Whats The Right Order

I thought Eric was a Faust rip-off and a standalone piece?
And I think you're right about Sourcery - that and Equal Rites keeps getting mushed together in my head..

Eric is about Rincewind, because IIRC he was in Hell and Eric wanted a demon to give him three wishes.

And it is definitely more fun to read than Faust!

Re: Whats The Right Order

Read them as you get them and don't bother about the order, you'll pick up things along the way.
