Well, I was refering more to the "retired community" that tends to dominate that area...their feet get cold and they have reached that wonderful level of freedom where they just don't care what anyone thinks.

I should have gone further in that statement, i.e.

I'd say fashion sense isn't that important, but that would be like a homeless person arguing that money isn't important....if you don't have it anyway, it isn't that important.
