Renounce my position, your reading comprehension needs some sharpening old chap. I simply turned down your prize that was not a prize but a punishment so that I might stay here in the thread making my clear claim to winner and I might add (dare I say it) grand maharishi of the the thread.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

Are you suggesting that the winning of this magnificent thread would not constitute some sort of prize? That tells me that you have more than a little disdain for this place. If nothing else, this should rule you out from ever becoming the winner here.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

Again your reading comprehension fails you!!! I simply turned down the prize YOU offered which was no prize at all given its enforced exile from the thread. The mini-ursas appear to have tap danced through your noggin and left things a bit scrambled. Winning this thread would in fact be a prize but I like to think of it as more of a recognition of my proper place.

What are prizes to one who is one with the universe!
The implied answer is "nothing". Given that the winning of this thread would be a prize of great import, someone who is one with the universe, and who believes that such a prize is worthless, is belittling this thread (and those who seek to win it).

(By the way, where's the question mark in your sentence?)

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

Au contraire, mon ami. The winning of this thread is not a simple prize, it is the pinnacle of achievement and as such would clearly be worth acquiring and as should be clear, my obvious due. I clearly must learn to be much more focused in my responses to you as you have a politician's, might I even say a Republican's ability to twist reality to suite your own purposes.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

To be called a republican (which has three different meanings for you, me and Springs), in this the year of our Monarch's Diamond Jubilee....

I'm almost nearing taking the first step on the road to deciding whether or not it would be appropriate for me to be, in a manner of speaking, speechless.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

Well that would be a welcome change indeed but before you take such a radical step be assured I had only the meaning it has here in the colonies and sad to say that no longer is terribly positive, well unless you are a proponent of ignoring reality, truth, justice and the American way in which case I suppose it is just fine.

It remains a mystery to me why so many on your charming set of islands views Timba and timber as synonymous. Seems a bit silly to me an well below the associative silliness that usually prevails here.

Their, there, they're, Timba.

No need to worry about mysteries. Timber and Timba are homophones.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

wow this is really getting in the way of my concentration; if you two are going to rabbit on about such nonsencical stuff as to whether or not you're going to win the thread - the answer is patently no: I am - could you pop off down somewhere else and let me avail of some quiet. Thanks.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

PLEASE LISTEN...

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!

The moderators have sadly fell asleep in their wheelchairs at "The Home for the Totally Bewildered."

Bless their little cotton socks and tartan blankets. The extra cup of tea and hazelnut macaroons at lunch were too much for them.

As I'm 1566th in the line of accession on Chrons, and King Brian has been kidnapped by publishers, there is no alternative to me taking over; I'm the only heir online.

I have won and declare tomorrow a GeeCee day.

What's this I hear you ask? Well basically you get as drunk as a newt, fill your belly full of kebab meat and have another drink

Only if you insist on pronouncing both words incorrectly, heavens to murgatroid the language is in danger in the cradle of its birth.
