That wasn't the terrible mistake - the terrible mistake was allowing the majorisation that "this" was a "thread" and not, as we know it to be, an habitat.

Years ago one of the comedians did a sketch where they had a Richard Whiteley pun master to bring out at parties; we could have a Majorism collection for just such occasions - possibly the long family party where it would be more fun to be left on my own.

But the point about puns is that they need to be fresh and sound spontaneous (and, i fact, be so, IMHO).


But it so happens that I'm quite capable of spinning puns to myself, so the rest of you have no need to remain.

Remember that these puns just pop, uninvited, into my head. Then I chuckle or laugh, sometimes out loud ().

To my conscious mind, they seem to be pretty spontaneous.
