Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

I haven't heard of that one, Karn. Actually, is it goes on and on, it could get a bit boring to my mind!

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

It was the end song to a show over here back in the early '90s called Lamb Chop's Playalong. At least THAT show didn't last very long. It consisted of a woman and hand puppets. Hand puppets! And ugly hand puppets at that!

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

I vaguely recall Lamb Chop, although calling it a puppet is being somewhat over-generous. The "puppeteer" (and ventriloquist) was Shari Lewis.

(Checking this up on Wiki, I see that Lamb Chop is about the same age as me.)

Somewhat over-generous, huh? That's truly an understatement, but, it's the best I could come up with. It was the stupidest show of its period in my opinion, and that was really saying something.

I far preferred the cartoons of that period over the live-action children's shows. How fondly I remember Gummi Bears, Duck Tales, and Garfield and Friends...... Alas, poor Yorick.....

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

Well, I recall not a show such as that, but, I've only lived in the U.S., and I am younger than the both of you.....

I think the earliest show I can actually recall watching new is the Gummi Bears......

Hey, it was early exposure to the fantasy genre, and it was fun.

We don't want to gum up the thread, though.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

hey! Don't pick on Lamb Chop! Shari Lewis was on TV when I was a kid...the 1950s. Look what Dr. Who looked like in it's infancy, and it was good. I grew up on Shari and her hand puppets! any copies should not be confused with the originals!

I now, Lamb Chop was a sock with eyes...but we had imaginations back in those early days. Does anyone remember Captain Video!, Buck Rogers, Rocky Jones Space Rangers (no I don't remember Rocky Jones either, but he was around)...How about Tom Corbett, Space Cadet? Yes, there were a lot of "Space Cadets" in my generation.

Re: Last Post in This Thread Wins!

We had to have imaginations in those days, as most of the special effects were neither special nor effective.

But even in that company, sock puppets were only one step above the likes of, say, finger mice.
