I used to love her music, but when she changed her image back in the day after divorcing her producer, she lost her appeal. Her old stuff was great ( back in her glass breaking days) and some of her later stuff also although it got a little to MTV for me. But she has a new song out now, called "We Belong Together" that reminds me of her old style.

Anyway, I was wondering what people thought of her. I'm willing to forgive her santa album, and her charmbracelet debut (whatever that was about). And all the other albums that preceded those two up until her divorce. She still has great vocals and an incredible voice.

By the way, is she even known in european countries?

yes she's known (in the UK at least) for that horrible Christmas song
although she was fetching in the red mini-skirt she wore in the video...

she'll always remind me of the early - mid 90's (which is another reason I hate her

)

nothing to do with her (supposed) singing 'talent' though

I always found her singing overwrought, and way out of proportion to the actual significance of the content of her songs. But, well, I'm not a big pop fan anyway. A totally manufactured success, I thought.

seriously, it must be rough for her. Half the world likes their roadkill better than her singing. The other half wants to sleep with her. And 0.01% thinks she should be investigated criminally.

There are worse fates. She made a few millions at some point and got to wear lots of ridiculously cute outfits. That would give me a nervous breakdown for sure.
